Founded on the belief that community matters, LOIA creates spaces where people can gather authentically, build relationships, and experience the joy of being fully themselves. Through retreats, social events, educational opportunities, and collaborative gatherings, we bring together individuals from across the state who share a commitment to friendship, mutual support, and collective flourishing.
LOIA also works to promote public dialogue and awareness about LGBTQ+ experiences in Iowa. By uplifting stories, strengthening community networks, and creating welcoming spaces, we contribute to a more connected and inclusive future for all Iowans. At its heart, LOIA is about community — the kind that is chosen, nurtured, and sustained through shared experiences and genuine connection.
